Intimate Images Unwrapped

'Intimate image abuse' is when someone shares, or threatens to share, an intimate image or video of a person without their consent. Too many young people have faced the humiliation of having private images leaked, and it's time to change this.

UNWRAPPING INTIMATE IMAGES

PROJECT ROCKIT’s Intimate Images Unwrapped series (supported by Meta) is a suite of educational videos, made by young people for young people, designed to build peer literacy of the dynamics underpinning intimate image-sharing.

By supporting young people to establish healthy boundaries, honour consent, make well-informed choices, champion respect and leverage the resources available, we CAN build healthy cultures of safety and positive connection online.

Intimate Images Unwrapped has been co-created with young people utilising PROJECT ROCKIT's award-winning participatory co-design process to leverage the lived experiences of 12 everyday young people aged 13–19.

Through a series of co-creation workshops, young people generated key learning outcomes and video content, which has been artfully woven into eight short-form educational episodes.

DISCUSSION GUIDE FOR EDUCATORS, PARENTS AND CARERS

Introducing topics related to sex, romantic relationships, and intimacy into a classroom of teenagers can be daunting for parents, carers and teachers. Some of us are more comfortable having these conversations than others, but even the most experienced in these conversations know that things can change suddenly - an engaged class is rolling around in hysterics, or your young person has shut down their willingness to talk completely.

INTIMATE IMAGES UNWRAPPED (supported by Meta) doesn’t fully solve these challenges, but it does offer you a new option and approach by bringing other young voices into your conversation with your classroom or your teen - and have them offer their thoughts around intimate image sharing, image-based abuse and “noods”.
